President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with the President of Italy, Sergo Mattarellla in Rome, where they discussed important issues of continuation of Ukraine's support in war with Russia. Zelensky thanked Italy for their considerable military and technical assistance and praised the adoption of the 10th Roman support package.
The head of the Ukrainian state emphasized the importance of joint efforts of international partners to achieve a long and just peace. He also noted the principled position of Italy in compliance with sanctions against Russia. Zelensky stressed that sanctions should be an integral part of the global strategy aimed at terminating Russia's aggression.
One of the important topics of the meeting was the issue of returning to Ukraine children abducted by Russia. Zelensky thanked Italy for their help in ensuring the care of Ukrainian orphans that were victims of Russian aggression.
The leaders also discussed the preparation of the International Conference on Recovery of Ukraine, which will take place in Rome on July 10-11, 2025. Zelensky noted that Italian experts can actively participate in the restoration of Ukraine's cultural heritage.
