Volvo hundreds of thousands of cars in the US

Volvo has announced a large -scale recall of 413 151 cars in the United States due to a technical malfunction of the rearview system. The problem is that the rear -view camera may not be activated when the rear gear is switched on, which creates risks to traffic safety.

According to Road & Track, the malfunction affects the Volvo XC40 (2021–2025), V90 (2022), S90 (2022–2025), V90 Cross Country, C40, XC60, as well as S60, V60, V60). All of these cars are equipped with a Google Built-In information and entertainment system, which causes a failure.

The essence of the problem is that the software of the system under certain conditions can cause an error, resulting in the camera remains inactive throughout the movement of the car. The central display in this case appears "Camera temporarily inaccessible".

Volvo has already developed a software update that eliminates this error. It can be installed both in the certified service center and through wireless updates. At the same time, all new models of model year 2026 are already supplied with updated software.

The company reported that as of today, no accidents, injuries or deaths have been recorded. To those owners who have already paid for the repair related to this problem, Volvo has promised to compensate for the costs.
