Journalist Yuri Butusov indicated that Avdiivka is currently attacking by Russian troops, which makes her strategically important node of Donetsk agglomeration. However, the journalist explained that the Russian army could not stop the attack because it would have defeated their own troops. He added that Avdiivka's defense is a strategic success of Ukraine's defense forces, allowing them to effectively restrain Russian reserves and provide a tactical advantage.
"For the Ukrainian army, Avdiivka is the best place to interpret the maximum number of Russian reserves with the conditions of tactical advantage. Therefore, it is better to strengthen the defense in a timely manner than then to plug holes in the fields in several brigades," Butus said.
