The Council of the Federation of Russia appointed the date of the presidential election on March 17, 2024, the website of the Federation Council reports.
"In fact, this decision starts the beginning of the election campaign," - said the speaker of the Upper House of Parliament Valentina Matvienko.
According to the Russian norms, the presidential elections are appointed by the Federation Council not earlier than 100 days and not later than 90 days before the day of voting.
