On Monday, an explosion occurred on the US Air Force Kaden, located on the Japanese Island. As a result of the incident, four military personnel of Japan's self -defense forces were injured.
According to the Ministry of Defense of Japan, the incident happened during the preparation for the operation to dispose of ammunition. The victims were provided with medical care, their lives are not threatened. The Cadna base is used for temporary storage of ammunition, including those who have not broken. Kadena's military base is one of the key US aviation supports in the region. It has been created during the Second World War and has been controlled by the United States since 1945. Since then, the object has turned into one of the most powerful airbase in the world. Okinawa Island, where the base is located, is a strategic center of American military presence in the Asia-Pacific. Most US objects in Japan are concentrated here.
In April 2025, the Ministry of Defense of Japan reported plans to place on Cadna strategic MQ-4C Triton drones, capable of carrying out longitudinal intelligence on the movement of Chinese military in the region-in particular in the Taiwanese Strait, the Japanese and East Chinese seas.
