As Chinese stealth material can change the future of missile defense

Chinese scientists from the University of Zheczian have developed an innovative stealth material that can significantly complicate the work of a new American Golden Dom (Golden Dome) anti-missile defense system. This material provides multi -spectral secrecy - simultaneously in the short -wave, medium -wave, long -wave infrared and microwave ranges, and is able to withstand the temperature up to 700 degrees Celsius.

Modern anti -missile systems rely on infrared and microwave detection: infrared sensors fix the thermal radiation of the targets, and microwave radars are reflected to accurately determine the location of objects. However, high temperatures characteristic of high-speed aircraft and rockets can reduce the efficiency of ordinary stealth materials or even destroy them. The new material combines a multilayered film with a microwave, which allows not only to effectively hide objects from thermal and radar detection, but also to withstand intense heating. The top layer is a protection against moisture, and the lower layer provides reliable sticking to the base. Laser engraving allows you to transmit microwave without harming infrared characteristics.

The tests showed that when heated to 700 degrees Celsius the material emits much less than the standard "black body"-at 422-268 degrees Celsius in different infrared ranges. It also remained colder than usual materials during simulation of flight at hypersonic speed. The Golden Dome System, declared by the US government under Donald Trump, is created to counteract ballistic and hypersonic missiles and involves the use of satellite infrared sensors. According to representatives of the L3Harris defense enterprise, these satellites are able to detect thermal signatures from space, which is key to intercepting threats.

If infrared tracking remains the main method of detection, the new Chinese material can significantly reduce the efficiency of "gold dome" and other similar systems. Scientists say that the technology of manufacturing the material is simple and scaled, which opens up opportunities for widespread use in aviation and rocket science.
