From December 2024, the "Winter is Support" program will start in Ukraine, which will provide one-time assistance in the amount of UAH 1,000 to all citizens staying in the country. This initiative will be financed from the balance of unused funds of the state budget, which are not intended for military needs. This was reported in the Ministry of Social Policy.
The aid can be used for various needs, in particular for the payment of utility services, the purchase of medicines, contributions to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as for the purchase of Ukrzaliznytsia tickets and other services. The payment will be one-time, but not only adults, but also children will be able to receive it, provided that one of the parents makes an application through the "Action" application.
Applications for assistance will start at the beginning of December 2024. The system will automatically check whether the applicant is in the territory of Ukraine. The program will last until February 2025, but the funds received can be spent until the end of 2025. Payments are available through two main methods: through the "Diya" application or through Ukrposhta, and the list of persons who can receive payments through post offices will be formed by the Ministry of Social Policy. The "Winter is Support" program is part of social support for Ukrainians in difficult times. It is important that these funds can also be directed to help the Armed Forces, because if desired, citizens can use them for charitable contributions.
In general, this initiative is designed to ease the financial situation of Ukrainians in the winter period, to ensure access to important services and goods, as well as to support the country's economy in crisis conditions.
