The newly elected US President Donald Trump revises his position on war in Ukraine. According to German Chancellor Olaf Solz, the American leader now acknowledges that a stable peace on the European continent is possible only with the conditions of strengthening of Kyiv's positions. Scholz told this in an interview with a German edition of T-online, which is quoted by European truth .
When asked about the possibility of changing Ukraine's support by Trump, Scholtz replied that his conversations with the US President were testified to the opposite. According to Chancellor, Trump agrees that only the military force of Ukraine can force Russia to end the war. And it is not about a temporary truce, but a sustainable peace, which will ensure stability throughout Europe.
Chancellor added that he was talking twice with Trump after his election. They agreed that Europe and the US should coordinate their efforts in support of Ukraine. In the future, there is also a discussion of security guarantees for Ukraine, where Germany will play an important role.
Sholtz stressed that the differences between European countries and the United States regarding the ways of reaching peace in Ukraine are unlikely. The unity of Kyiv's partners will remain a key factor in resolving conflict and counteracting Russian aggression.
