Elon Musk, the famous entrepreneur and founder of Tesla and SpaceX, has made serious allegations against the European Commission, claiming that it offered him a secret deal to censor the social media platform, which he refused to accept.
“The European Commission offered X an illegal secret deal: if we quietly censored speech without telling anyone, they wouldn't fine us. Other platforms have adopted this agreement. X is not," Musk claims.
He published a post about the secret deal after the European Commission accused social network X of violating EU law, for which it faces a large fine.
Since August of last year, large Internet companies are required by EU legislation to take measures against false information on their platforms.
