The EU has outlined the US Red Lines for a Peace Agreement with Russia

European countries have outlined critical boundaries for the United States, which cannot be the subject of compromise in negotiations on a potential peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia. This was stated by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barro, Reuters reports.

According to him, the European Union is concerned about the safety of the continent, as well as the national interests of each member country. On this basis, it was necessary to give a clear signal to the United States as a party that plays the role of a mediator in the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

"The only goal that worries us is the protection of French interests and European security. That is why the United States decides to take a mediator's position, we make them hear what our 'red lines are'," Barro said.

Although the minister did not specify what principled positions are discussed, it is noted that these may be a matter of territorial integrity of Ukraine, its sovereignty and future security order in Europe.

Meetings of high -ranking officials, including US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, took place on April 17 in Paris and will continue on April 23 in London. They are attended by representatives of Ukraine, the USA, France, the United Kingdom and Germany.

These consultations are against the background of increased diplomatic efforts in connection with the coming to power in the US President Donald Trump, who openly declared his intention to "quickly end the war", which causes fears in some European allies of Ukraine.
