Denmark authorities have presented the initiative to introduce a "green tax" for flights, the content of which involves the establishment of a tax depending on the route. Under the new rules, on domestic flights, the value of the tax will be about $ 9, on average number - $ 35, and on far -off - $ 56. This step is expected to help reduce flight prices.
Half of the funds raised from the Green Code will be spent on the transition to the use of eco -friendly fuel at the domestic flights. The rest of the profit will be distributed between the elderly in the form of additional cash payments.
"Denmark's aviation sector has, like all other industries, to reduce its impact on the climate and move to the green future," said Lars Ogard, climate, energy and utilities. It is planned to launch the first internal route, which works exclusively on environmentally friendly fuel, by 2025.
