Europe is creating artificial energy islands

Artificial energy islands are a breakthrough solution for the construction of wind power plants in Europe. In the coming years, two such objects will appear - Bournholm and Princess Elizabeth, which can become a model for future renewable energy development in the world.

Broncholm Island

Location : Baltic Sea

  • Initiators : German company 50Hertz and Danish Energinet
  • Start Construction : 2025 (after all permits)
  • Features : Planned as a platform for new wind power plants that will supply energy to the Baltic Sea.
  • Elizabeth Princess Island
  • Location : North Sea, 45 km from the coast of Belgium
  • Initiator : Belgian Government
  • Construction Status : The end of the foundation is expected in 2.5 years
  • Purpose : Creating an infrastructure for large -scale offshore wind energy development.

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, a well-known investment company, plans to build about 10 more energy islands in Europe and Southeast Asia.

Artificial islands allow you to solve several tasks at once:

  1. Increasing the area for offshore wind power plants - their installation on such platforms is more convenient than directly in the open sea.
  2. Centralization of infrastructure - islands can become hubs for energy transfer to different countries.
  3. Reducing environmental impact - artificial islands can avoid interference with natural ecosystems.

These projects promise to become a revolution in the field of renewable energy. They contribute to the transition of Europe to environmentally friendly energy sources, reduce dependence on traditional energy resources and serve as an example for other regions of the world.
