The European Commission has completed the first part of the process of verifying the compliance of the legislation of Ukraine and Moldova with the legislation of the European Union. This part included explanatory sessions that took place from February to May. During these sessions, which covered all negotiating sections, more than 80 authorities and state institutions were involved.
From July 2024, the next stage will begin, which will include bilateral meetings with candidate countries. Ukraine will present the degree of compliance of its legislation with the EU legislation regarding each negotiating section.
The final stage of the process will be the submission by the European Commission of a report on the compliance of Ukrainian legislation with EU law for each negotiation section.
