The Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on migration approved a decision to provide financial support to Ukrainians returning to Ukraine after the conflict. This was reported by the chairman of the PACE Committee on Migration, Alexei Goncharenko.
According to this decision, Ukrainians who choose a return to Ukraine for permanent residence will receive financial assistance from Europe.
"This initiative was included in the wide report we are preparing in the PACE Migration Committee on Ukraine. This is a very important solution," Oleksiy Goncharenko said.
Some European countries are already looking at assistance programs to return Ukrainian refugees back to Ukraine after the conflict has been completed. For example, in Switzerland, they provide financial assistance of about 500 euros, in Norway - 1500 euros.
In the Czech Republic, the Assistance Program for return to Ukraine will be implemented from June 1, 2024. The project will act until November and cover more than 400 refugees. Those willing will be provided with tickets for buses or organized medical transport.
