Google Messages messaging service has started a new step in Rich Communication Services, a modern alternative to classic SMS. This format allows you to send messages with high quality photos, videos, read the status of delivery, and most importantly, use encrypted chats.
Although RCS is already supported on Android and iPhone (through Messages), not all users know or use it. To change the situation, Google has added new text lines to the application code that will allow you to invite contacts to chat through RCS. Among the new messages: "Invite this contact with RCS chat", "We can exchange high quality media and send safe messages when we both are on RCS chat." These features are still inactive, but Android Authority experts have found them in the new version of Google Messages, so starting is a matter of time.
How to turn RCS on Android: Open Google Messages. Click on your avatar in the upper right corner. Choose "Message Settings" → "RCS-CHA". Turn on the "Turn on RCS-Chat".
You will then be able to use a modern, convenient and secure way of sharing messages.
