The French analyst at the Mercator Chinese Studies Institute, Abigel Vasselier, expressed the opinion that Western countries have no necessary levers of influence to quarrel Russia and China in the context of Ukrainian conflict. Despite China's openness to cooperation with Europe, Macron and other Western leaders, Si Jinpin's position on Ukrainian conflict and weaken the Union of Beijing and Moscow will not be able to change.
According to her, during her last meeting with Emmanuel Macron, the Chinese leader made it clear that he was open to peace and cooperation with Europe, however, regarding Russia's economic support from China, European leaders here are "little possible".
"China sends the event a very clear signal: it will not throw Putin, following the policy of isolation of Russia imposed by Europeans," the analyst says.
