The Security Service of Ukraine reported the detention of a group of persons published by Russian special services who prepared a terrorist act in the Kyiv region. According to Ukrainian law enforcement officers, an explosive terrorist attack was planned against the military forces of Ukraine. The purpose of the attack was not only the physical destruction of servicemen, but also an attempt to destabilize the situation in the country and provoke internal conflict among Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.
Among the detainees is a 16-year-old student from the Kirovograd region, a 19-year-old boy and two women from Vinnytsia region. They all acted separately, but had a common curator from Russia, who gave them instructions through the Telegram messenger. According to a terrorist operation plan, one of the agents had to deliver a homemade explosive device to the dislocation building of the Defense Forces Unit of Ukraine, dressing in the military uniform. The explosive was hidden in a tactical backpack, and the movement of the device was tracked by Russian operators in real time. According to representatives of the SBU, the agent who was supposed to deliver the explosive did not know about the real nature of the mission. He believed that the explosion would occur after his exit from the building. However, thanks to the SBU counterintelligence operation, the enemy's plan was exposed early.
As explained in the Security Service, the main purpose of the terrorist attack was not only the physical destruction of the military, but also the creation of information noise. Russian special services tried to shake the socio-political situation in Ukraine and to give the impression that there are internal conflicts in the Ukrainian forces of defense. One of the goals was to show that the military was undermining its brothers as protest against the authorities or conditions of service. Women from Vinnytsia, who were part of the group, made explosives according to the instructions from the Russian curator and left it in a predetermined place. One of the women was also responsible for the movement of explosives between the crackers. Another member of the group was to ensure the delivery of explosives to the Kiev region, where the teenager took it for further implementation of the terrorist attack.
Particular attention in the context of this terrorist attack is attracted by the fact of involvement in the criminal activity of young people. The 16-year-old guy, who was recruited by Russian special services, became the main figure in surgery. He had to be a "courier" and deliver explosives. Russian aggressors actively use teenagers and young people to perform their terrorist operations, counting on their naivety and lack of experience. All four detainees declared suspicion of Articles 111 (treason in martial law) and 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. If their guilt is proven, they are threatened with life imprisonment with the confiscation of property. The detention and exposition of this terrorist group is another confirmation that Russia's war against Ukraine is not limited to direct military clashes, but also includes active actions in the rear aimed at destabilizing the situation within the country.
The Security Service of Ukraine continues to combat Russian agents trying to shake the situation in Ukraine. This incident proves how important it is to ensure the safety and identification of hostile elements trying to penetrate the country under the guise of civilians or even teenagers.
