The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and counterintelligence successfully detained officials of the State Space Agency of Ukraine (State Somosmos), who worked for the benefit of the Russian special services. The person involved in the case conveyed to Russia valuable secret information concerning the strategic enterprises of Ukraine and satellite images, which could be used for the task of strikes on important objects in our country. This detention was the result of a large -scale operation, which the Ukrainian intelligence services underwent for several months.
According to the case file, the Ukrainian official was recruited by the FSB of Russia in 2024. Initially, the Russian intelligence service came to him through his wife, who lives in Rostov-on-Don and actively cooperates with Russian invaders. For money, the man agreed to become an agent of Russia, passing to her important information he had within his official duties at the Ukrainian Space Agency.
Even before the war, the person involved had access to secret information on the locations of strategic objects, such as enterprises of the military-industrial complex that produce navigation systems, as well as strategic military warehouses and production of high-precision means of damage. It was these data that could probably be the basis for Russian strikes on important objects of Ukraine, which could lead to significant losses and complications for our defense capacity.
After the agent began to cooperate with Russian curators, the SBU in stages documented each step. Ukrainian counterintelligence has ensured effective monitoring of the traitor's activities, using it to carry out counterintelligence operations. One of the stages of this work was to mislead the person being misinformation: the misinformation of the Russians, beneficial to Ukraine, was transmitted. This allowed not only to bring the traitor to the clean water, but also to significantly limit its impact on the course of military events.
The detention of the person took place during a meeting at the Ministry of Strategic Industry of Ukraine (Ministry of Strategy). During the search, the traitor removed a mobile phone and electronic devices that contained anonymous chats in messengers and e -mail through which he maintained communication with Russian curators. These materials have become an important proof in the case and were allowed to confirm his participation in criminal activity against the state.
The personality was suspected of committing state treason in the conditions of martial law, which is one of the most serious criminal offenses under Ukrainian legislation. Such crimes provide a sentence in the form of life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
At the moment, the issue of election of a pre -trial detention in the form of detention is being resolved. In the case of guilt, the traitor threatens the maximum punishment, which is an important signal for others who tries to betray their country at this difficult time.
The information collected by the person transmitted to the Russian special services was extremely valuable to the enemy.
