During his official visit to Poland, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with French President Emmanuel Macron. The negotiations took place after the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. The main topics of the meeting were defense cooperation, support for Ukraine and issues of European integration.
Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude to France for his significant contribution to the strengthening of Ukraine's defense capability. Since the beginning of a large -scale invasion of the Russian Federation, France has provided military assistance to Ukraine worth six billion euros.
During the meeting, the Presidents discussed the possibility of further strengthening of Ukraine's defense capabilities. In particular, it was about security cooperation and potential security guarantees for Ukraine and Europe as a whole.
"This is important for strengthening Kyiv's positions to reach a just and long peace," the Presidential Office of Ukraine emphasized.
Particular attention was paid to European integration during the meeting. Zelensky noted that Ukraine is counting on France's support in the negotiation process to join the European Union.
This meeting has become another important step in strengthening Ukraine's international support and its aspirations for peace and stability in Europe.
