Zelensky called the third round of negotiations with Russia

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the third round of negotiations between Ukrainian and Russian delegations will take place on Wednesday, July 23, in Istanbul. He stated this in his evening address on July 21.

According to the Head of State, preparation for a new meeting with the Russian side is already ongoing. In particular, Zelensky held a meeting with the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, who coordinates the negotiation process from Ukraine.

Zelensky noted that during this meeting, not only the organization of negotiations, but also preparation for the next exchange of prisoners was discussed. According to the President, more details will appear on July 22.

The main focus of the third round of negotiations will be humanitarian issues, especially the exchange of prisoners, as well as providing access to international organizations to temporarily occupied territories. Participants can also touch on the topics of civilian safety and protection.

The previous two rounds of negotiations, which also took place in Turkey, allowed to achieve certain results in the humanitarian block, in particular regarding the return of held persons and creating conditions for evacuation from dangerous regions.
