President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a law on protection of state information resources, which provides for a large -scale strengthening of cybersecurity at the national level. This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada press service on Thursday, April 17.
The new law, registered at 4336-IX, aims to increase the stability of state bodies and objects of critical infrastructure to cyber threats. In particular, the document provides for the creation of a national response system to cyberincidents, cyber -attacks and cyber threats.
In addition, a system of exchange of information about cyber threats between government agencies and other entities responsible for information protection will be formed. The law also introduces the introduction of staff positions of cybersecurity specialists in public authorities and on key infrastructure.
The adoption of the law has become an important step towards strengthening the cybersecurity of Ukraine, especially in the conditions of constant external threats and cyberattacks on public resources.
