President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky presented state awards to the staff of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the creation of a special service. The solemn ceremony took place on Tuesday, March 25. This was reported by the press service of the Head of State.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted the important role of the SBU in counteracting Russian aggression. According to him, the intelligence service has become one of the key forces in defense of the country both on the front and rear.
"During the years of this war, the SBU became a truly combat special service, very effective, very strong. It is the one needed by our country .
The President noted the SBU's contribution to the Battle of the Black Sea, where Ukrainian forces strike the Russian Navy and the military infrastructure of the occupiers. He also emphasized the importance of operations for the destruction of Russian oil refining facilities.
In addition to combat missions, the SBU continues to work on ensuring the country's internal security. Zelensky thanked the staff of the special service for the successful fight against Russian sabotage, agent networks and enemy's kyerpressions.
"Every such disrupted surgery is saved lives of Ukrainians. Thank you," the President emphasized.
