President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday, January 9, will take part in a meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine, which will take place in Ramstein format in Germany. The Head of State stated this in his video address on the eve, January 8.
"Tomorrow I will be at a meeting in Ramstein format, and negotiations with partners at the level of defense ministers and military commanders are also planned," Zelensky said.
The main topics of the meeting will be further strengthening of Ukraine's air defense system and measures to reflect Russian aviation from Ukrainian cities and borders. Zelensky stressed that the implementation of agreements with partners is crucial to achieving these goals.
"This is real if partners are currently implementing the arrangements we have been talking about for a long time. I am grateful to everyone who helps Ukraine," the President emphasized.
In addition, Ukraine plans to discuss the Defense Coalitions Strategy with partners in 2025. In his address, Zelensky drew attention to the need to strengthen European autonomy in security issues.
"There is only one choice in Europe - and it is a historical choice - to become stronger, to become more independent, to rely more on yourself. It is necessary to be adults in this world and be ready to make your European contribution to global security. It will be true for everyone in Europe," - summed up the head of state.
