Zelensky responded to calls for mobilization

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi commented on the possible lowering of the mobilization age, stressing the priority of equipping the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the necessary equipment and weapons. He stated this on January 14 during a meeting with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.

Zelenskyy emphasized that there are more than 100 combat brigades in the Armed Forces, and all of them daily need additional support, including armored vehicles, artillery and other types of weapons.

The President also noted that due to constant repairs of equipment, there is a certain understaffing that needs to be solved immediately. "We hear many signals from representatives of NATO countries, including the former US administration, regarding the mobilization age. But the main thing is to provide our military with everything necessary for effective protection," Zelenskyi said.

In his opinion, international partners should focus on saturating the Ukrainian army with modern equipment and weapons in order to guarantee proper protection of the Ukrainian military on the battlefield.
