President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree on the imposition of indefinite sanctions against a number of influential persons. The corresponding decision of the National Security and Defense Council touched by Petro Poroshenko, Igor Kolomoisky, Konstantin Zhevago, Gennady Bogolyubov and Viktor Medvedchuk. According to the document, sanctions provide a wide range of restrictions.
In particular, the following measures are applied to persons who have come under sanctions:
- Lock of assets and complete termination of trade operations;
- Prohibition of transit of resources, flights and transportation by the territory of Ukraine;
- Restrictions on capital withdrawal outside the country;
- Suspension of fulfillment of economic and financial obligations;
- Deprivation of state awards of Ukraine and other forms of celebration;
- Prohibition of participation in the privatization and lease of state property;
- Termination of electronic communication services;
- Introduction of restrictions in the field of environmental, sanitary and veterinary control;
- Termination of trade agreements, joint projects and industrial programs in certain areas;
- Prohibition of the transfer of technologies and rights to intellectual property;
- Prohibition on the acquisition of land plots.
These sanctions are indefinite and aimed at preventing potential threats to national security. The Presidential Decree came into force from the moment of its publication.
