During his evening address, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that 150 Ukrainian rescuers were ready to go to the United States to fight large-scale forest fires in California, in particular in Los Angeles.
Zelensky noted that the situation in the US state is critical, and Ukraine is ready to offer its assistance in eliminating the consequences of a natural disaster. "He has instructed the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and our diplomats to prepare the possibility of participation of our rescuers in the fight against fires in California," he said. According to the President, 150 firefighters ready to send have already been trained. Ukraine studies options for organizing their participation in the fight against fires through the appropriate channels, and the assistance proposal has been transferred to the US side.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also recalled that Ukraine can assist not only in the fight against fires. He reported that Ukraine is ready to help coal to overcome the humanitarian crisis in Transnistria, where there is a shortage of energy. The President noted that the situation in the region is deteriorating due to the intentional actions of Russia, which can weaken public sentiment in Moldova before the election. However, Zelensky also noted that the reaction of those who control the situation on the left bank of the Dniester is not clear.
"There is a willingness to help Ukraine. However, if we are ready to cooperate and help people in Transnistria on the other side, we congratulate it," the President summed up.
