An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 occurred in Romania, in the seismic zone of Vranca, on Sunday, December 24, the Romanian National Research Institute of Earth Physics (INCDFP) reports on its official Facebook account.

The earthquake was recorded at 8:06 a.m. local time at a depth of 96.8 km. Its epicenter was located 35 km west of the city of Focşani, 59 km north of Buzău, 76 km east of Sfintu Gheorghe, 87 km east of Brasov, 95 km southwest of Birlad and 98 km northeast of Ploiesti

Fortunately, so far there have been no reports of possible destruction or casualties. Local authorities and emergency services may conduct additional surveys to determine the possible effects of an earthquake.
