Three people were killed and another person was injured in the terrible incident that happened on the campus of the University of Nevada. According to CNN, the shooter was a 67-year-old professor associated with colleges in Georgia and North Carolina.
It is currently unknown whether this professor worked at the University of Nevada. According to CNN, the shooter was located and eliminated by law enforcement officers during the shootout.
As a result of the attack, four people were taken to hospitals, and four more sought medical attention for panic attack symptoms. Two law enforcement officers were treated for minor injuries while searching for the victims.
This tragedy has already become the 80th event this year in educational institutions of the USA. Unfortunately, this is yet another example of the violence that plagues American universities. In total, 631 cases of mass shootings were recorded in the United States this year.
