French actor Gerard Depardieu will stand before a court in Rome on June 17 in the case of bodily harm to the famous Italian photographer Reno Barillary. About it reports Euronews with reference to Italy law enforcement agencies.
The incident occurred in May 2024 near the popular Harry's Bar on Via Via Vianeto Street, the cult place of Rome. At that time, the 76-year-old department was in dinner with his girlfriend, Czech actress Magda Vavrusova.
According to 80-year-old Barillary, it all started with the image of the actor to the Italians. Then the department allegedly threw an ice cube from the photographer, and then hit it three times. "I can forgive him, but not the image of the Italians," Barillary told reporters.
However, the Department himself denies the accusation. In a comment to La Repubblica, he stated that it was the photographer who provoked the incident, the first to push him. His version is supported by Vavrusova's lawyer, who claims that the paparazzi initially pushed her client, after which the Department simply intervened in the situation and ... "slipped."
Reno Barillary is a legendary figure in the world. For over six decades, he has filmed the most famous celebrities in the world, often masking under a priest, mason or gardener to get to the object of shooting.
