Increased border outfits will serve in the most vulnerable areas of the border with Romania and Hungary.
In the Transcarpathian region, border protection was strengthened at the Mukachevo Border Detachment. This was reported by the State Border Service of Ukraine on Saturday, March 22.
"On the area of responsibility of the Mukachevo border detachment, additional forces were attracted to protect the state border. This became part of the measures aimed at intensifying the fight against illegal activities," - the message reads.
Increased border outfits will serve in the most vulnerable areas of the Ukrainian-Romanian and Ukrainian-Hungarian border. During patrolling, border guards will use modern automobile and special equipment, unmanned and manned aviation, as well as other special tools.
The purpose of these measures is to prevent the illegal crossing of the state border, the fight against smuggling and other illegal actions. According to representatives of the border service, attracting additional forces will significantly improve the monitoring and control of strategically important areas.
Earlier it was reported that smuggling in Transcarpathia intensified in border areas with Romania and Hungary. The State Border Service of Ukraine urges citizens to comply with legislation and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to ensure the security of the state border.
