More than 300 World War II bombs have been found during construction in Athens

During the work on the Great Urban Planning Project at the former Hellenico Airport, 314 bombs were found in southern Athens, dating from the Second World War.

Hellenico-Argirupol Mayor, Jannis Constantatos, reported at a press conference that a repository with German production bombs was found at a depth of two meters under the former interest club, kindergartens and sports facilities built for the 2004 Olympic Games.
