The EU needs to solve the problem with Hungary

Estonia Prime Minister Kai Callas has expressed concern that Hungary is a serious problem for the European Union. She made this statement in Brussels before meeting EU leaders, reports The Guardian.

"We are faced with the problem that needs to be solved. We have always had different opinions, but we managed to maintain unity. However, in the case of Hungary, the difficulties are deepening," Kallas said.

The Estonian Prime Minister stressed that the EU lacks an effective tool for counteracting Hungary.

She also expressed surprise that Hungary continues to adhere to positions opposite to the EU Member States and does not join the euro area, despite the high level of inflation.

"Hungary needs the European Union," Callas said.

It is also important to note that Orban compared Hungary membership in the EU with the Soviet occupation in a commemorative speech, announced on the anniversary of the suppression of the Soviet troops of the uprising in 1956.
