In 2025, the International Eurovision Competition will be held in Switzerland after the NEMO artist's victory, which represented the country in 2024. Although there is still time for the next competition, countries are already actively preparing for the new season, including Montenegro, which is returning to the stage after a three -year break.
Montenegro, which refused to participate in the competition because of financial difficulties in 2022, did not participate in the show in 2023 and 2024. Now the country has again announced its return, which has become known through the message of the national broadcast of RTCG and information from Eurovoix. Montenegro organizes a national selection called "Montesong-2024", analogue of Ukrainian national selection for Eurovision. The artists have the opportunity to submit their applications by October 2024, after which the jury will select 16 finalists who will compete for the right to represent their country in Switzerland.
Montenegro made her debut in Eurovision in 2007 and participated in the competition 12 times in her history. Despite this, only twice the countries were the finals, and the best result was 13th in 2015, when Montenegro represented the singer Knez with the song "Adio". Returning to the competition in 2025 opens new prospects for Montenegro and gives the country a chance to declare itself in the international arena.
