Ukrainian women can join military training without becoming conscripted. People's Deputy Oleksandr Fedienko explained the peculiarities of the new procedure on the air of the TV channel "Kiev 24".
Bill No. 12076, submitted to the Verkhovna Rada in December 2024 on the initiative of Prime Minister Denis Shmigal, offers an updated approach to women's military accounting. According to the document, those who want to undergo basic military training (BZVP) or individual courses in mastering weapons, driving or providing medical care should first be on military accounting.
However, according to Fedienko, the procedure for withdrawal after completion of training is stipulated in the law, which guarantees voluntary for women. The politician stressed that the accounting and mobilization of women remain voluntary. Exceptions only apply to citizens with medical or pharmaceutical education. All others can be trained without the risk of forced mobilization: they are registered. Are trained. They are taken from accounting if they do not want to serve next.
