Ukrainian champion Alexander Usyk can meet in the ring with the British Daniel Duba. The President of the World Boxing Council (WBC) Maurisio Suleiman has expressed interest in conducting such a duel after the revenge of Usik with Tyson Fury. According to Suleiman, it will be a significant battle of weight, which can be crowned with the acquisition of absolute championship.
In August 2023, Usik knocked out Duba in the ninth round, retaining his titles. That duel was saturated with controversy, including because of the British strikes below the belt. Despite the scandal, Usik demonstrated his skill and endurance, leaving his opponent without chance. According to the manager of Usik Egis Klimas, the victory over Duba in revenge will allow the Ukrainian to gather all belts of the division, including the IBF title. This will strengthen the position of Usik as an absolute champion in the heavyweight weight.
Mauricio Suleiman also noted that although WBC is not a promotional organization, the Council always supports matches that determine the absolute champion. His vision of the Usik -Duba match as a grand event adds intrigue to a possible revenge. Before considering a revenge from Duba, Usik has another test - the second match with Tyson Fury, scheduled for December 21. In the first meeting, the Ukrainian won with a separate decision of the judges, becoming the absolute champion of the world in the heavyweight weight.
If Usik repeats success in Fury's battle, it will not only consolidate his status, but also open a way to a sensational revenge from Duba. Revenge Usika and Dubois is an opportunity for the Ukrainian champion to confirm its advantage and finally close the question of the best boxer of the superweight division.
