Why did the Cabinet block a charity program for patients?

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution, which, unfortunately, led to the stopping of one of the important charitable initiatives - the "Key of Hope" program. The program allowed patients, including the military, to receive expensive medicines at significantly reduced prices, which became important support for those who fight oncology and other serious diseases.

However, the new rules imposed by the government to regulate the pharmaceutical market are blocking this program, which has caused financial difficulties for many patients. One of those who was seriously touched was the military Pavel Kirenko, who is currently undergoing treatment for oncology. His wife, Anna Kiriyenko, said that earlier thanks to a charitable program, they could buy a course of treatment for Paul at a half -price, but now they will be forced to pay three times more for the same medicines. According to Anna Kirenko, Kitruda treatment, which Paul takes every 21 days, will now cost not 80 thousand hryvnias, but as much as 160 thousand. Subsequently, it turned out that new prices are even higher, and the course of treatment will cost already 230 thousand hryvnias. "It has become a real shock for us," says Anna. "We have already collected the required amount for a year of treatment thanks to benefactors, but now we will need almost three times more money." For a family where one of the parents fought at the front, this situation was a difficult blow. They feel that, despite all the efforts and help of indifferent people, new rules leave them on the verge of financial collapse. Anna does not hide her indignation about the adopted decree: "It is an impression that it is simply a bullying of fate and the state. Surviving on the front? Now - oncology. Fighting? Now you lose the opportunity to get the necessary medicines for free. Here you and state aid, do not have to be treated without much cost." The Kiriyenko family still hopes that the government will review its decision and will resume the work of a charity program that provided the necessary assistance to people fighting serious illness. However, at the moment, it is felt as a terrible injustice for the family, and they are waiting for changes, because the situation causes them only despair and surprise. Blocking of the Hope Key Program can have serious consequences for many patients around the country who are unable to cover high treatment costs. This leads to the fact that treatment becomes less affordable, and important medicines are impossible for many. Moreover, this situation calls on the efficiency of state health care, especially when it comes to patients who need expensive treatment.

The Kierienko family, along with other victims, hopes for rapid changes in government resolutions, because not only their treatment but also the lives of many other people who fight serious illness depends on it.
