On the night of March 29 to March 30, Ukrainians traditionally transferred clock arrows an hour in advance. This means that instead of 03:00 it has come at once 04:00, and today many will have to wake up an hour earlier.
The transition to the summer is governed by the Government Resolution "On the Procedure for Calculating Time in the Territory of Ukraine" of 1996. In 2025, the last Sunday of March fell on the 30th, so it was this night that the switching time took place. What should be done after moving the clock? Check time on all devices. Smartphones, computers and other electronic gadgets usually go to new time automatically. Mechanical watches and some button phones need to be translated by hand. Adapt your sleep schedule. Experts recommend going to bed a little earlier so that the body is easier to adapt to the new regime. The transition to the summer was introduced for: electricity savings - at the expense of long daylight. Optimization of working time - to better use natural light.
However, some studies have shown that a change in time can have a negative impact on health: impaired biorhythms, stress, changes in sleep and even increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Back in 2024, the Verkhovna Rada supported the idea of cancellation of clock transfer. It was planned that on October 27, 2024, Ukraine will last change time and will remain in the winter. However, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy did not sign the law, so he did not come into force.
Thus, the transition to summer and winter time in Ukraine remains in force, and the next translation of the clock will take place in the fall - October 27, 2025.
