During 2024, the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) exposed 120 officials who organized the illegal transfer of military personnel across the state border of Ukraine. This was the result of the investigation of 287 criminal proceedings, in which 61 indictments were transferred to the court.
The main involved in the cases were employees of territorial centers of acquisition (TCC), medical certification commissions (MSEC), doctors and law enforcement. The amount of documented bribes in these cases amounted to UAH 11 million 400 thousand.
According to the DBR, the attackers organized various schemes for the illegal departure of men from Ukraine, in particular, forged medical diagnoses, made them as volunteers or drivers of humanitarian cargo, and also removed from accounting due to fictitious criminal proceedings. One of the common schemes was the transfer of persons across the border outside the checkpoint or the organization of "lime" marriage with the disabled.
Thanks to the coordinated work of the DBR, the property of the persons involved in the total amount of almost UAH 11 million was arrested. All of these facts indicate the scale of corruption in bodies that control military conscripts and provide the state border.
