An effective method of taking control of the situation during failures and difficulties

We all acknowledge that major events and catastrophes can cause stress and harm. However, what many people do not understand is how we can feel the same stress from the little things that accumulate daily and disappear.

From spilled coffee on pants to the disappeared bus, such small unfortunate can give rise to irritability and stress, preventing us from focusing on important matters. And here the question arises, how do we respond to such situations?

Many people blame themselves for their clumsiness, may even feel dissatisfied with objects that lead to these misunderstandings. However, such reactions, although they can alleviate emotional pressure, rarely improve the overall level of stress.

Psychologists offer two simple strategies-problem-oriented and emotional-oriented-which can be used to reduce stress from everyday problems.

The problem-oriented strategy is to focus on solving problems. If something goes wrong, focus on how you can fix it.

Emotional-oriented strategy, on the contrary, is designed to improve your well-being in situations that you cannot change. Instead of blaming yourself or other objects, focus on your own emotions and try to calm down.

It is important to choose a strategy depending on whether it is possible to change the situation. For example, in the case of an angry letter, an emotionally-oriented strategy, which is to rethink the situation in a positive way, it can be most effective.

The use of rational parts of the central nervous system helps to manage emotional reactions to stress, providing a more balanced reaction to negative situations. The practice of emotional regulation, also known as "healthy poffigism", allows to reduce the impact of failures and stress on the body, maintaining emotional well -being.
