The Supreme Anti -Corruption Court of Ukraine (VAKS) issued a verdict for the former chairman of the Board of the Holding Company "Energorezh" Dmitry Khuchkov. For the organization of a large -scale scheme of seizure of energy sector enterprises and their legalization, Kryuchkov received 15 years in prison, deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions within three years, as well as the confiscation of all his property.
Kryuchkov, in the post of head of the private company "Energorezha", in 2015-2016 organized a criminal scheme that caused losses to state -owned enterprises "Zaporozhyeoblenergo" and "Cherkasyoblenergo" for the amount of more than 1.5 billion hryvnias.
The essence of the scheme was to sign contracts for transfer of debt and replacement of the debtor. As a result, the funds that were paid to consumers were directed directly to the private company "Energorezh". These actions have caused significant losses to the state, since most of the shares of "Zaporozhyeoblenergo" belongs to the state.
Together with Kryuchkov, the court sentenced Svetlana Kuzminskaya, ex -responsibilities of the chairman of the Board of Cherkasyoblenergo. She has been sentenced to eight years in prison, deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions within two years and confiscation of half of the property.
The court also decided to apply a special confiscation of UAH 458 million, partially satisfying the claims for damages.
Before the beginning of corruption activity, Kryuchkov had a political career. In 2006–2007 he was a People's Deputy of Ukraine from the Bloc Yulia Tymoshenko. Even then, his name was associated with other cases, including the appropriation of UAH 346 million.
