Funding for veteran policy in the state budget for next year has increased significantly

The state budget for the next year significantly increased the funding of veteran policy, as well as the introduction of new initiatives to support veterans of war and their families. Deputy Minister for Veterans of Ukraine, Svetlana Kashenets, during a meeting with representatives of regional, Kyiv city state (military) administrations emphasized the importance of active cooperation for the implementation of new measures.

"The state should provide due attention and support to Ukrainian defenders returning from the war and their families. The role in the implementation of a new state veteran policy is given to local authorities and communities," she stressed.

The meeting discussed the introduction of new rules for the use of budget funds of the Ministry of Veterans, the implementation of government resolution No. 702 on the creation of independent structural units from veterans policy at the level of regional state administrations, district military administrations and united territorial communities was analyzed.

The mechanisms for the implementation of the regional infrastructure of veteran policy were also discussed, including the expansion of the project "Adminservice 'veteran'" on the basis of the CNAP with the support of the Ministry of Veterans. Other issues of the meeting were the involvement of veteran policy structural units in providing psychological assistance, promoting veteran sports, education and professional adaptation. Important aspects of ensuring quality processing and timely entry into the Unified State Register of War Veterans were also highlighted.

During the meeting, the state of implementation of the pilot project of the Ministry of Veterans on the implementation of the veteran assistant institute was presented, the programmatic directions of work for 2024 of the Ukrainian Veterans Fund were presented, the creation of conditions for the development of adaptive sports, physical and sports lines was discussed.

Representatives of state administrations also had the opportunity to ask their questions to the heads of profile structural units of the Ministry of Veterans and to receive comprehensive answers.
