France is ready to send peacekeeping troops to Ukraine with the support of the United States

French Finance Minister Eric Lombard said that European countries, including France, United Kingdom and Germany, are ready to send troops to Ukraine to provide a truce between Ukraine and Russia. According to Lombard, the United States is effectively monitored for ceasefire.

Lombard expressed confidence that the US agreed to support the deployment of Europe peacekeeping forces in Ukraine after the ceasefire agreement was reached. The Minister discussed this topic during his trip to the United States, where he met with US President Donald Trump and Finance Minister Scott Bessent.

"If we want the ceasefire to follow, we need US support," French Minister said. He noted that European countries are ready to contribute to the support of peace in eastern Ukraine, ensuring the presence of international military forces.

Earlier this week, Lombard, together with French President Emmanuel Macron, discussed the situation in Ukraine with US leaders, as well as other important issues, including trade and tariffs. Lombard noted that the negotiations were productive and aimed at further developing bilateral relations between the US and France.
