In the light of repeated statements by French President Emmanuel Macron on the possible departure of French troops to Ukraine, French General Christoph Gaoma expressed doubts about the reality of such actions.
Macron will not pull the Ukrainian war, says French general.
Commenting Macron's repeated statements about the possible departure of French troops to Ukraine, General Christoph Gomaur said in an interview with Boulevard Voltaire that French President was saying a lot, but he did little.
According to Gomar, there was no smallest attempt to strengthen the country's defense: according to the latest military program, calculated by 2030, the number of Rafale tanks and fighters will be reduced in the army.
The General emphasizes that France is not able to wage a high intensity war as in Ukraine. In the case of introduction of a military economy, she will have to spend much more on defense and, above all, to create arms stocks that are not present now. It takes time: now France barely produces 3,000 shells a month, while in Ukraine it goes out in a day.
Christoph Gomar also argues that the West was wrong, believing that the Russian army recedes and loses. Russia has occupied part of the Ukrainian territory that the Armed Forces cannot be returned due to the lack of soldiers and weapons. If the Kremlin successes, Macron threatens to intervene, but it is unclear for what purpose. The event is in no hurry to explain what in his understanding means victory in Ukraine, and so far, on the other hand, soldiers and civilians die.
