The head of the International Nuclear Energy Agency, Raphael Grossi, planned a visit to Iran on May 6-7 to discuss issues related to the country's nuclear program. This became known from the message of the body. The exact details of the meetings and the schedule of the visit are not disclosed.
This visit of Grosssey coincides with the Nuclear Energy Conference in Isfagan, Iran. It is also worth noting that this city became the object of possible attack by Israel on April 19.
According to Iran's state television, Raphael Grosssey plans to participate in the conference and meet with the heads of the country's nuclear program and other high -ranking officials.
The tensions between Iran and Iran began to grow in 2018 after US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew from a nuclear agreement concluded between Iran and other world powers. After that, Iran abandoned all the restrictions provided by the agreement and according to the head of the IAEA, now has a sufficiently enriched uranium to create several nuclear warheads if he decides to start production.
In addition, the IAEA surveillance cameras were stopped, and some experienced agency inspectors were prohibited from entering the country. Despite this, Iran officially states that his nuclear program has exclusively peaceful goals and rejects any allegations of intentions to develop nuclear weapons.
