Iran has assured the US that there are no plans to assassinate Donald Trump

In October 2024, Iran officially gave the administration of US President Joe Biden written guarantees that it does not intend to carry out an attempt on the life of Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States. The letter was sent on October 14 after the US National Security Council warned that any attempt to assassinate Trump would be regarded by Washington as a declaration of war.

The situation escalated after reports of two assassination attempts on Donald Trump in recent months. In response, the US Secret Service increased security measures to protect the politician.

American authorities have expressed concern over information about Iran's alleged plans to eliminate Trump. This issue has become the subject of international dialogue, as any escalation could lead to serious consequences for relations between countries.

Iran's written assurances were seen as an important diplomatic step. However, US officials remain cautious and continue to monitor the situation. The National Security Council stressed that any such attempt would be met with a tough response from the US.
