Yesterday, an extraordinary event took place on Red Square in Moscow. The head of one of the Russian defense enterprises, whose identity has not been disclosed, tried to commit self-immolation. According to sources, the man doused himself with flammable liquid and set himself on fire.
But not as a sign of protest against the war, or because he does not want to help murderers. Vice versa.
74-year-old Volodymyr Arsenyev works at Volna Research Institute, where they develop communication systems for the Russian army. This institute develops and manufactures components for radio stations of the ground forces, aviation and the Russian Navy.
Arsenyev complained that the company was allegedly going bankrupt on purpose, and even appealed to the Russian prosecutor's office.
Last year, Arseniev was accused of deliberately disrupting the terms of delivery of orders for the war against Ukraine. According to the indictment, he stole documentation for the development of another enterprise. Later, the inspection found no violations, and Arseniev filed a lawsuit to protect "honor and dignity," the publication writes.
