North Korea leader Kim Jong -in declared full and unconditional support of the Russian Federation in the war against Ukraine. The relevant statement was made during his meeting with the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigh, reports the Central Telegraph Agency of Korea (KCNA) on June 5.
According to the media, during the negotiations the parties held a "broad exchange of views" on the current international situation, as well as the development of events around the so -called "Ukrainian crisis". The meeting was the achievement of the "consensus of positions", which once again confirmed the deepening of the military-political union of two authoritarian regimes.
Sergei Shoigu expressed his gratitude for the "heroism" of the North Korean soldiers, who, according to the Russian high -ranking official, were sent to Russia. Such a statement actually confirms rumors about the participation of North Korean staff in the war against Ukraine, although it has not been officially recognized before.
In response, Kim Jong -in assured that the DPRK government would continue to support the Kremlin's foreign policy position on all “key international issues”, including Ukrainian.
This statement was another alarm to the international community. The cooperation of Russia and North Korea in war, including the potential involvement of the North Korean military or weapons supply, is of serious concern among Western countries. Washington, Brussels and Seoul have been repeatedly warned of the threat posed by such an alliance for stability in the region.
In response to these events, international experts urge to increase the sanction pressure on Pyongyang and closely monitor the logistics of supply to Russian troops.
