China increases its military and nuclear arsenal, and these signs indicate that it is ready to invade Taiwan by 2027.
This is what the head of the Indo-Pacific command of the United States Admiral John Akilino, Bloomberg reports.
According to him, despite China's economic problems, its official defense budget has increased by 16% in recent years and amounted to over $ 223 billion.
Admiral added that in three years since he accepted the command, the China's army has adopted an additional 400 fighter jets and more than 20 large warships. Beijing has also doubled his arsenal of ballistic and winged missiles since 2020.
"Everything points to the direction of the head of the PRC Xi Jinping at a meeting with the army to be ready to invade Taiwan by 2027," Akilino said.
Meanwhile, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lin Jian said that Taiwan was a "China's internal business" and accused Washington of "sowing a split in the Asia-Pacific region."
"Some people in the United States have tried to raise rumors of the Chinese threat to increase tension throughout the strait and provoke confrontation. We are decisively against it," he said.
