Ukraine and China have signed an agreement that envisages expanding the list of Ukrainian agricultural goods exported to the PRC. New arrangements regulate veterinary and phytosanitary requirements for the supply of Ukrainian peas and water products of wild cape, including fish and seafood caught in natural reservoirs.
These agreements are expected to help increase exports. Production of peas in Ukraine demonstrates stable growth: in the 2023/2024 the marketing year it was 409 thousand tons, and in 2024/2025 it is forecast at the level of 476 thousand tons. The main markets remain Turkey, India, Italy, Malaysia, the UAE, and China continues to increase purchases.
For fishery products, the internal industrial catch in 2024 amounted to 11.9 thousand tons, which is 6.2% more than the previous year. At the same time, the catch outside the jurisdiction of Ukraine has almost doubled - up to 19.9 thousand tons.
The growth of fishery exports is also noticeable: the export value per year increased by 80.3% and reached $ 56.3 million. The concluded agreements create new opportunities for Ukrainian manufacturers and strengthen trade relations between Ukraine and China.
