China is shocked by the new European tariff on its electric car

The European Commission has taken a decisive step in trade, introducing significant duties on the import of Chinese electric vehicles. According to Politico, new duties are from 17.4% to 38.1%, which exceeds the expected indicators.

This is "much higher than expected." China was "shocked".

Such a step "potentially provokes a trade war", writes the publication.

Beijing condemned such a step and "threatened to retain to European farmers and aircraft manufacturers" and began an anti -dumping investigation against French alcohol producers.

Germany was opposed to high duties, and France was lobbied by whose car manufacturers are "not so vulnerable in China."

Experts believe that such a decision, the head of the EC Ursula von Der Lyen, went against Berlin.

The EU is already charging a duty of 10% for any foreign car compared to 15% of China. From July 4, duties will be added today. Tesla duties are believed to be lower than others.
